Remembering Kathleen Ann Goonan
The science fiction author hailed by Scientific American as a “shaman of the small" was a former professor of the practice in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication and a member of the LMC Advisory Board. A virtual memorial service is planned for March 7.

Purpose and Potential Speaker Series
The Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts strategic plan study committee hosted four Purpose and Potential Speaker Series events during February.
The events are designed to foster conversation about the unifying purposes and specific possibilities of a liberal arts college in an institutional setting such as Georgia Tech.
The February sessions featured thought-provoking and far-ranging conversations with perspectives on alumni outreach and engagement, external academic and research opportunities, Georgia Tech academic affairs initiatives, and development and funding diversification.

The master's program in Global Media and Cultures helped open Leighton Rowell to career opportunities she had never considered. While she originally planned on a career in journalism, the program helped her see that her skills in communication and French could make an impact in other areas, such as policy and human rights research.
