LMC Major Lauren Lambert's Summer NASA Internship Inspired by Astronaut Mei Jemison
LMC major Lauren Lambert is interning this summer at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, a position she pursued after meeting former astronaut Mei Jemison (pictured above on right with Lauren) on campus in January and writing about her visit for the Technique.
"I was inspired to apply to NASA because they offer an inclusive environment for people of all interests and backgrounds. It really is a team effort. When watching a launch, such as the SpaceX Demo-2, it is easy to see the engineering and science that happens here, but there is so much more to NASA than what you are able to see on launch day. I was surprised at how many opportunities were open to me at this organization as a liberal arts major, and love the exposure that I am getting throughout this program." |
